Apr\u00e8s son accouchement en 2020, les scientifiques ont pass\u00e9 \u00e0 la loupe son placenta. Conclusion : plus aucune trace du virus du sida n\u2019est d\u00e9tect\u00e9e, selon une \u00e9tude publi\u00e9e mardi 16 novembre dans la revue <a href=\"https:\/\/www.acpjournals.org\/doi\/10.7326\/L21-0297\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong><em>Annals of Internal Medicine.<\/em><\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>C\u2019est&nbsp;la deuxi\u00e8me fois qu\u2019une gu\u00e9rison du sida sans aucun traitement antir\u00e9troviral a lieu dans le monde. Le tout premier cas a \u00e9t\u00e9 observ\u00e9, \u00e9galement en 2020, chez une sexag\u00e9naire de San Francisco aux \u00c9tats-Unis.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">\u00ab Contr\u00f4leurs d\u2019\u00e9lite \u00bb<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Cette nouvelle r\u00e9v\u00e9lation tend \u00e0 prouver qu\u2019un petit groupe de personnes, entre 0,5 et 1% de la population mondiale, nait&nbsp;avec une r\u00e9sistance naturelle au VIH, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bbc.com\/news\/health-59297311\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>souligne la BBC<\/strong><\/a>. Certains poss\u00e8dent des g\u00e8nes qui emp\u00eachent toute infection. &nbsp;D\u2019autres contractent la maladie mais \u00e9radiquent seules le virus. Cependant, la plupart des malades ont besoin d\u2019une th\u00e9rapie antir\u00e9trovirale tout au long de leur vie, sans quoi le virus se r\u00e9veille et s\u00e9vit de nouveau. &nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Ces derni\u00e8res ann\u00e9es, d\u2019autres \u00e9tudes ont montr\u00e9 que des patients dits \u00ab contr\u00f4leurs d\u2019\u00e9lite \u00bb peuvent \u00e9liminer le virus sans l\u2019aide d\u2019un traitement anti-VIH. Rappelons aussi le cas d&rsquo;Adam Castillejo, dit le&nbsp;<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.bbc.com\/news\/health-51804454\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">\u00ab patient de Londres \u00bb<\/a><\/strong>,&nbsp;a pu arr\u00eater de prendre ses m\u00e9dicaments quotidiens contre le sida apr\u00e8s avoir re\u00e7u un traitement \u00e0 base de cellules souches pour un cancer dont il \u00e9tait aussi atteint. Ces cellules infect\u00e9es au VIH ont \u00e9t\u00e9 supprim\u00e9es et remplac\u00e9es durant la th\u00e9rapie contre son cancer. Par un hasard complet, son donateur de cellules souches faisait partie de ce petit groupe de personnes dot\u00e9es de g\u00e8nes emp\u00eachant l\u2019infection au VIH. Ce qui pourrait correspondre au cas de la&nbsp;\u00ab&nbsp;patiente Esperanza&nbsp;\u00bb.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">M\u00e9canismes de gu\u00e9rison \u00e0 reproduire<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Ces deux gu\u00e9risons naturelles donnent de l\u2019espoir aux scientifiques qui font des recherches depuis des ann\u00e9es pour trouver un traitement contre le VIH.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Pour l\u2019instant, les chercheurs qui suivent la patiente argentine essaient de comprendre les m\u00e9canismes ayant entra\u00een\u00e9 sa gu\u00e9rison.
