Selon Nature, un groupe de chercheurs de l\u2019universit\u00e9 de Hefei dit avoir atteint la \u00ab\u00a0supr\u00e9matie quantique\u00a0\u00bb \u2014 ou \u00ab\u00a0avantage quantique\u00a0\u00bb \u2014 \u00e0 partir d\u2019un ordinateur photonique, ce qui est une premi\u00e8re mondiale. La supr\u00e9matie quantique signifie la capacit\u00e9 d\u2019un ordinateur quantique \u00e0 faire un calcul irr\u00e9alisable sur un ordinateur classique. Jusqu\u2019\u00e0 pr\u00e9sent, il n\u2019y avait que Google qui a r\u00e9ussi \u00e0 trouver un tel calcul en octobre 2019, en s\u2019appuyant sur des circuits supraconducteurs (puce Sycamore). Mais\u00a0ce calcul a \u00e9t\u00e9 tr\u00e8s critiqu\u00e9, car jug\u00e9 plut\u00f4t inutile. Bref, Google aurait d\u00e9montr\u00e9 quelque chose qui ne sert pas vraiment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/img-s-msn-com.akamaized.net\/tenant\/amp\/entityid\/BB1bJ5kj.img?h=442&amp;w=799&amp;m=6&amp;q=60&amp;o=f&amp;l=f\" alt=\"Image\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Les chercheurs chinois, \u00e0 l\u2019inverse, d\u00e9montrent la supr\u00e9matie quantique pour le probl\u00e8me dit \u00ab\u00a0d\u2019\u00e9chantillonnage de bosons\u00a0\u00bb, un calcul probabiliste particuli\u00e8rement complexe \u00e0 r\u00e9aliser et dont la difficult\u00e9 augmente de mani\u00e8re exponentielle en fonction du nombre de variables. Dans le cas pr\u00e9sent, un calcul qui aurait mis 2,5\u00a0milliards d\u2019ann\u00e9es sur le meilleur supercalculateur chinois a ainsi pu \u00eatre fait en\u2026 200 secondes. Selon le professeur Jian-Wei Pan, qui a pilot\u00e9 l\u2019exp\u00e9rience, ce r\u00e9sultat n\u2019a rien d\u2019artificiel, car ce type de calcul serait utile dans la th\u00e9orie des graphes, la chimie quantique ou l\u2019apprentissage automatique. Jian-Wei Pan est une sommit\u00e9 dans la physique quantique. En 2018, ce scientifique avait d\u00e9j\u00e0 marqu\u00e9 les esprits en cr\u00e9ant\u00a0un <strong>syst\u00e8me de chiffrement quantique qui s\u2019appuie sur des satellites<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Quelques voix critiques s\u2019\u00e9l\u00e8vent n\u00e9anmoins. Interrog\u00e9 par Nature, Christian Weedbrook, PDG de Xanadu, souligne que la machine chinoise n\u2019est pas programmable, contrairement \u00e0 la technologie Sycamore de Google. Elle ne pourrait donc pas \u00eatre utilis\u00e9e pour&nbsp;<em>\u00ab&nbsp;r\u00e9soudre des probl\u00e8mes pratiques&nbsp;\u00bb<\/em>. L\u2019homme, \u00e0 priori, sait de quoi il parle, car Xanadu est une jeune pousse qui veut \u00e9galement construire un ordinateur quantique photonique.
