Apr\u00e8s les investissements dans l\u2019infrastructure t\u00e9l\u00e9coms \u00e0 haut d\u00e9bit terrestre, une composante maritime se d\u00e9ploie.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Dans son r\u00e9cent rapport sur l\u2019\u00e9conomie num\u00e9rique, la Banque mondiale informe que le Cameroun, le Gabon, le Congo et la Guin\u00e9e \u00e9quatoriale construisent un c\u00e2ble sous-marin de 500 km.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>La construction de ce c\u00e2ble sous-marin, apprend-on, facilitera les \u00e9changes de trafic entre ces pays et permettra \u00e0 un pays comme le Gabon de revendre de la capacit\u00e9 internationale \u00e0 ses voisins. Ce d\u2019autant plus que le point de d\u00e9part de cette infrastructure prend sa source en terre gabonaise. Ainsi, des interconnexions suppl\u00e9mentaires accro\u00eetraient le nombre de clients potentiels pour l\u2019acc\u00e8s international (c\u2019est-\u00e0-dire les op\u00e9rateurs nationaux de ces quatre pays).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>En outre, le d\u00e9veloppement de l\u2019IXP (infrastructure physique permettant aux diff\u00e9rents fournisseurs d\u2019acc\u00e8s Internet d\u2019\u00e9changer du trafic), pour atteindre son potentiel optimal, contribuerait \u00e0 am\u00e9liorer la qualit\u00e9 des services pour les contenus et les services en ligne au niveau local et \u00e9ventuellement au niveau r\u00e9gional. Cet \u00e9l\u00e9ment \u00e9tant d\u00e9terminant pour la r\u00e9ussite des services d\u2019e-gouvernement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Relativement \u00e0 ce projet, la Banque mondiale pr\u00e9cise qu\u2019en mai 2019, l\u2019interconnexion physique avec le Congo est devenue op\u00e9rationnelle, mais non encore commercialis\u00e9e, en attendant l\u2019approbation des r\u00e9gulateurs nationaux des deux pays. Les interconnexions physiques avec le Cameroun et la Guin\u00e9e \u00e9quatoriale, elles, sont attendues depuis septembre 2020.
