Une campagne de phishing distribue Byakugan, un malware qui vole des informations sensibles et permet un acc\u00e8s \u00e0 distance aux appareils Windows infect\u00e9s.<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Voici d\u00e9j\u00e0 30 ans qu’Adobe prend toute la place sur le march\u00e9 de la\u00a0gestion des PDF. L’entreprise a su perfectionner au fil des ans cet outil qu’elle a cr\u00e9\u00e9, notamment avec son lecteur Acrobat. Avec sa petite phrase \u00ab\u00a0Ce document n\u00e9cessite l’ex\u00e9cution d’Adobe Acrobat Reader pour \u00eatre consult\u00e9, cliquez ici pour le t\u00e9l\u00e9charger<\/em>\u00a0\u00bb pr\u00e9sente sur la plupart des sites web proposant la lecture de document dans ce format, la firme de San Jos\u00e9 a litt\u00e9ralement conquis Internet.<\/p>\n

Mais chaque gloire a sa ran\u00e7on, et c’est ce que les chercheurs de Fortinet et d’ASEC ont prouv\u00e9 en d\u00e9couvrant entre janvier et avril 2024 qu’un malware, baptis\u00e9 \u00ab\u00a0Byakugan\u00a0\u00bb, \u00e9tait dissimul\u00e9 dans un faux fichier PDF incitant les victimes qui le recevaient \u00e0 cliquer sur un lien v\u00e9rol\u00e9 pour le lire. Simple, basique, mais ravageur.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Un fichier PDF flou en portugais en guise d’app\u00e2t<\/h2>\n

Byakugan a \u00e9t\u00e9 d\u00e9couvert pour la premi\u00e8re fois en janvier 2024 par FortiGuard Labs. Les chercheurs ont trouv\u00e9 un fichier PDF en portugais qui distribuait le malware. Celui-ci contenait un tableau flou et des instructions invitant les victimes \u00e0 cliquer sur un lien malveillant pour afficher le contenu. Une fois le lien cliqu\u00e9, le t\u00e9l\u00e9chargeur d\u00e9pose un fichier intitul\u00e9 require.exe, qui est sa copie. Ensuite, un programme d’installation propre est t\u00e9l\u00e9charg\u00e9 dans le dossier temporaire, suivi d’une DLL, qui est ex\u00e9cut\u00e9e gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 un d\u00e9tournement de DLL pour ex\u00e9cuter require.exe afin de t\u00e9l\u00e9charger le module principal.<\/p>\n

Le t\u00e9l\u00e9chargeur, nomm\u00e9 \u00ab require.exe \u00bb et situ\u00e9 dans le dossier temporaire, ex\u00e9cute la copie, et non Reader_Install_Setup.exe, et pr\u00e9sente un comportement diff\u00e9rent dans les deux fichiers. Le module principal de Byakugan est t\u00e9l\u00e9charg\u00e9 depuis thinkforce.com, un serveur C2 qui peut \u00e9galement servir de panneau de contr\u00f4le \u00e0 un attaquant, avec une page de connexion sur le port 8080.<\/p>\n

Byakugan est un malware qui repose sur node.js, qui utilise OBS Studio pour surveiller le bureau de la cible et ex\u00e9cuter diverses fonctions. Il dispose de plusieurs biblioth\u00e8ques, notamment un moniteur d’\u00e9cran, un mineur, un enregistreur de frappe, une manipulation de fichiers et un voleur d’informations sur le navigateur.<\/p>\n

De plus, Byakugan peut choisir entre le minage avec CPU ou GPU pour \u00e9viter la surcharge du syst\u00e8me et les t\u00e9l\u00e9chargements de mineurs populaires comme Xmrig, t-rex et NBMiner. Il stocke \u00e9galement des donn\u00e9es dans le dossier kl et peut voler des informations sur \u00ab\u00a0les cookies, les cartes de cr\u00e9dit, les t\u00e9l\u00e9chargements et les profils remplis automatiquement<\/em>\u00a0\u00bb, ont \u00e9crit les chercheurs.<\/p>\n

Adobe d\u00e9j\u00e0 cibl\u00e9 par des hackers pour diffuser leurs malwares<\/h2>\n

Mais ce n’est pas la premi\u00e8re fois qu’Adobe est la cible des hackers. Le AhnLab Security intelligence Center (ASEC) a \u00e9galement d\u00e9couvert un\u00a0infostealer\u00a0d\u00e9guis\u00e9 en programme d’installation d’Adobe Reader dans un faux fichier PDF en portugais. Celui-ci invitait les utilisateurs \u00e0 t\u00e9l\u00e9charger Adobe Reader, ce qui a conduit \u00e0 l’ex\u00e9cution d’un fichier malveillant Reader_Install_Setup.exe.<\/p>\n

Il cr\u00e9e \u00e9galement deux fichiers malveillants et ex\u00e9cute un fichier syst\u00e8me Windows, msdt.exe en tant qu’administrateur, chargeant le BluetoothDiagnosticUtil.dll malveillant et chargeant le fichier DLL malveillant. L’acteur malveillant peut contourner le contr\u00f4le de compte d’utilisateur (UAC) gr\u00e2ce au piratage de DLL.<\/p>\n

Un red flag utile qui devrait vous alerter : si vous poss\u00e9dez d\u00e9j\u00e0 cet outil, alors il s’agit sans doute d’une tentative de phishing.
